With car
you come to Lofoten from the north without taking the ferry. If you come from the south, you can take a car ferry from Bodø to Moskenes, or from Skutvik to Svolvær. You can also come by ferry from Bognes to Lødingen and drive E 10 from there to Lofoten.
Kabelvåg
There is no big city pulse that greets you when you come to Kabelvåg, but you will find an urban village.
In a strange way, Kabelvåg is the place that is bigger than itself. It has to do with history, but is also linked to peoples self-understanding. They know what a cozy harbor means, and they are happy to give you space there.
And at the heart of the harbor is the Sommerhotellet, here there is plenty of space with a pleasant yard, its own forest and jetty with Lofotens best sun wall.
Svolvær
Only 4.5 km away, about 8 minutes by car, is Svolvær, also called the capital of Lofoten. Here you will find most things a small town has, and along the beautiful quayside promenade there are several good restaurants.
Both Hurtigruta, the fast boat from Bodø and Ferga to Skrova/Skutvik Add here. We also recommend a walk beyond the jetty to Fiskerkona, which welcomes all sailors.
Mountain tours
The summer hotel is centrally located and is an excellent starting point for trips both east and west in Lofoten.
From the yard you can go on day trips up to Småtindene or take a morning trip up to Tjeldbergtind with a 360 view of Svolvær and Kabelvåg.
Midnight sun
In the evening it is nice to drive to Yttersia, Gimsøya or Laukvika, for example. Here you can experience the midnight sun in a beautiful coastal landscape
